Honoring All Who Served, KMC Veterans’ Day Ceremony, Sat, Nov 11, 3 - 4 p.m. Front Lawn of Kilauea Military Camp. Guest Speaker will be Mayor Harry Kim. Special Veterans’ Day Buffet featuring Prime Rib and Crablegs follows; $20.50 for adults and $10.25 for children ages, 6-11, Everyone is invited to join in this special celebration. Ka`u Concert Society Presents: Ukulele and Slack Key Guitar Classes with Keoki Kahumoku, Saturdays. Dates TBA. The ukulele class will be at 10 a.m. and the guitar class will be at 11a.m. Classes are sponsored by Ka`u Concert Society with funding from the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts through appropriations from the Legislature of the State of Hawai`i and by the National Endowment for the Arts. The Sixth Annual Big Island Ranch Invitational Rodeo, Date TBA. beginning at 8 a.m. at the Ka`u Roping & Riding Association arena in Na`alehu. Admission is $6 and a food booth will help to raise funds. The Association is trying to raise $25,000 to purchase the community rodeo grounds . Events include: Dally Team Roping, Calf Mugging, Po`o Wai U, Team Penning, Wild Cow Milking, Pony Express, Ranch Branding, Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, Steer Undecorating, Breakaway, and Ranch Mugging. 929-9962.
